JEI Investment Management is an independent, founder-led investment firm focused on delivering superior long-term returns through disciplined equity investing and thoughtful portfolio construction. We manage concentrated, selective portfolios built from fundamental research, with an emphasis on free cash flow generation, reasonable valuation, and business durability.

Our investment approach is intentionally differentiated from benchmark-driven strategies. We seek to maximize exposure to our highest-conviction ideas while maintaining portfolio sustainability through diversification, strong risk controls, and the avoidance of leverage, margin, and illiquid securities. This structure allows us to remain patient, long-term oriented, and aligned with our investors across full market cycles.

I founded JEI Investment Management in 2013 to implement a disciplined framework for investing my family’s wealth in a portfolio of stocks that trade at a discount to their fundamental value based on identifying companies facing end-market cyclical troughs combined with internal company “turn-around” catalysts. I created this framework based on my father’s investment methodology that he used effectively during his 40-year career at American Funds / Capital Group. I received a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Southern California and am a CFA Charterholder. In my personal time, I live in San Diego with my wife and 3 young kids, and I am an avid exerciser and college sports fan. I am also on the board of the Autism Society of America and the Autism Society of San Diego.
